Merkel hopes shower of Greece

Greece does not expect the European Council held on Thursday and Friday. Financial markets either: there will be no money available to Greece this week. That is the message, very firm, sent Sunday by Angela Merkel, through the German radio. "Financial assistance to Greece is not on the agenda of the meeting Thursday as Greece herself said she did not need help," said Chancellor on Deutschlandfunk radio."It should not cause turbulence in the markets by raising false expectations of the European Council on Thursday," she insisted.

The European Commission argues, in contrast to the rapid adoption of a plan of aid to Greece estimated at 20 billion euros.

If it is European solidarity in the ordeal, Germany seems open to a compromise solution that would combine funds from bilateral European countries granted "voluntary" in support of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
